Yes I know there are a load of "should I cancel my xyz" threads, this isn't another one of them. Grin

I'm just curious, I'm due to get married at the local registry office in the summer. I know that the big party etc is most prob not gonna happen, that's fine. But is the legal process something that's likely to be shut down entirely, or would it continue? As I imagine the registry office will remain open for births and deaths anyway.

What do you think?

I dont have an answer but am also having a registry office wedding in summer, hoping to have the ceremony and postpone reception if need be. Am hoping closures would come in soon and be for a month or so? Cant see them closing for 4 months surely 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well who knows, whole thing is unprecedented isn't it.

Thinking about it, I'm quite happy to have just us and two provided witnesses, registrar behind glass screen, whatever. I'd imagine they could do that...?

that's exactly what we discussed last night, I would like to get married still if we can and just postpone the party, just set up a video to send to family. I'm hoping by summer it might be possible, havent heard anything from the registry office to say otherwise so I'm crossing my fingers!

We spoke to them this morning, as far as they know everything is carrying on as normal at the moment. Which seems a bit stupid re huge gatherings but hey ho...!
