Have you stockpiled ?

I saw a thread asking how many loo rolls people had and very few people admitted stockpiling - yet the supermarket shelves are bare!

So where are you stockpilers and why are you doing it ?

Help me understand ? Do you have a family ? Do you work? What goes through your head?

I stockpile. Started doing it years ago.

Don't like running out of stuff so always stocked up on cleaning products, bottled water and non-perishable foods.

Upped it for Brexit. Gradually over months and months.

Glad for it now. I've not been near shops since this started. Can.live off my stock for months.

What goes thtough my head? I like to have food for emergencies.

Panicking about loo rolls does not sound like fun...

Same as lightside above. I always keep a lot of non perishable stuff in. Haven't bought lots if anything in ages.

Okay, in this way you aren't depriving anyone else. Have you ever run out before ? Do you work outside the house ?

No, I haven't. I toyed with the idea of stocking up when I was in town this time last week, but chickened out not wanting to be 'one of those people', only to bloody go down with a cough the very next day! Kicking myself now - half a loo roll left!

I have a cupboard of tinned foods and a stocked freezer, but with 4 of us at home at the moment, I can see that if we can’t get regular top ups of food, we’ll be eating weird combinations and probably only have enough for 2 weeks at a big push.
The panic buying is scaring me. I wish people would calm down.

I only ask if those who stockpile work outside the house because I wonder if they feel it's their responsibility to run things at home. Just as a business puts things aside for a rainy day! But I read some information about GAD in housewives in the 1950's. It can be immense pressure to feel like you have to hold things together! Not trying to offend or be goady. I'm just trying to understand.

We haven't as we simply can't afford to.

No, I'm too poor.
Got an online shop coming tomorrow and I can only pray I actually get what I ordered, but I probably wont. I'm trying to eat less but I'm breastfeeding so I know I have to keep myself fed. It's not a dire situation right now but I'm very worried.

There's no point in asking people not to panic and stock up because they will anyway, but please try and be reasonable.
