What to do if you get coronavirus and have babies or toddlers to care for?

What if you get coronavirus and have young children, toddler or baby to care for? I heard one of the symptoms is confusion or inability to get out of bed. What happens then? If you single parent or you and your partner are both physically unable to get out of bed? I'm getting worried ill get coronavirus and be half unconscious in bed, then what happens to my young toddler? I'm getting very anxious about coronavirus.

I was discussing this with my husband the other day.

In an absolute worst-case scenario where you're a single parent and you're so ill that you can't get out of bed/care for your children then you're probably going to end up calling 111 or even 999. Purely because if you're that ill that you can't care for them then you probably also need medical help.

However, if there are two parents then we also figured:

• We're unlikely to both get seriously ill
• We're unlikely to get ill at exactly the same time
• It doesn't go from 0 to 100 overnight, you will get a certain amount of warning where you could ask around friends/family in the local area if you needed to

I really don’t know for single parents. I strongly sympathize with any single parent at the best of times (was one for 6 years) but this must be a terrifying prospect!

My plan is that if whoever gets it first isolates as best they can within the house and we take every precaution to delay the spread to the other person. My worry is my baby is breast fed and I’m concerned if I get it I’ll pass it up her but that also I may not be well enough to feed her

I’m a single mum and terrified. I have five at home. The eldest is a teen and he won’t stay home and is risking our health. Honestly I’m so extremely worried. I just want to stay home with the children. For months if necessary. I would do it.
