Anyone trying to make the best of it and sort their House/garden out?

I’ve been insanely anxious about this for weeks and now it’s hitting us I feel strangely calm, maybe even resigned that we will get it and it’s only a matter of time.
I’m trying to take my mind of things And focus on the house and garden. We moved in recently and had already ordered garden furniture, gas bbq, and a mower with what was left over of the house budget due to arrive this week. (Just aware that sounds incredibly frivolous especially right now)
I’m going to dig over the veggie trug at the bottom of the garden and see if I can order some seeds and compost and try my hand at growing my own.
Hoping to have a little corner we can enjoy even if things get really tough with lockdown.

Anyone else trying to find positive things to take their mind off the unfolding horror?

I'm going to translate this period of time to an opportunity to declutter and deep clean the house. Garden after house.

I'm in Ireland and suspect we might be going into full lockdown very soon.

I'm planning to do some gardening and decorating, and have just made a list of what I need to get tomorrow before most of the shops close. My attic needs a major sort out, and I have an enormous pile of ironing to get through.

I will need to keep busy to avoid getting very fed up.

I am planning on removing dead plants out of my flower bed and renew the soil. I am not green fingeredGrin. Ordered some bee bombs so will hopefully have a lovely wild flower patch in the garden and some random pots of them too. My garden is pretty neutral other than this but if I get desperate there is about half a tonne of stones needing lifted.

House is a cluttered mess atm so I am sure I can find stuff to do if I get tetchy. Have studies to do as of next week though so may be occupied for now.

I will have to work extra hard to help tide over our company, but realistically there comes a point when there will be not much we can do and we will save time on commute.

So I plan to stitch and read a lot.
DS (10) will be my personal trainer. We will take up running, if that is allowed.
I hope to tidy up the house and throw out a lot of rubbish we no longer need.
We will work on the garden, the outside of the house, decking and fence.
Hoping DH feels like doing up the downstairs bathroom. We will have ample time to learn.
If we do half of this, I would be so happy.

I was speaking to my CBT person (therapist? Clinician?) as I have post natal anxiety which has gone utterly skywards now, and he suggested allocating worry time, but otherwise keeping busy.

My plan is to sort a home ed plan and resources
Declutter
Spring cleaning
Decorate DS2's bedroom
Redecorate lounge
Sort the garden, including veg patch

Actually this has made us clean out and fix the broken panes in our greenhouse. We will be starting to grow our own salad veggies from this weekend. Something for us all to do that gets us outside and lin a few weeks will help us keep out of the shops too

I've been having a big Spring clean and today I potted up lots of pansies for out the front Smile

Chocolatear · 17/03/2020 19:06

I'm going to redecorate DS bedroom. I also plan to visit the garden centre tomorrow for seeds, I'm going early so there won't be many people.

I have asthma so I have 12 spare weeks.

All lovely plans.
Our garden furniture, mower and bbq arrive soon.
I’m a bit embarrassed by it tbh as it seems like totally frivolous purchases when so many people are going to be struggling but they were planned/ ordered before this all happened and I guess we will potentially be spending much time out there now if we can’t go far.

Got some stencils so we can paint DS room
As well. Trying to think positively about it but just feel very sad and worried
