No online shopping slots..
TheVeryHangryCaterpillar · 17/03/2020 15:55
So what are isolated people with no support meant to do?!
No online shopping slots at any supermarket in my area as far as the calenders go
lubeybooby · 17/03/2020 15:57
there will be soon. they are working on it
in the meantime try amazon pantry and things like gousto/hello fresh/mindful chef
Sandybval · 17/03/2020 15:59
This has been discussed at length on here. It's likely a combination of them having an unprecedented rise in bookings, mixed with drivers being off isolating and shop shortages, it's no wonder. I am sure things will get better but it's a huge adjustment.
TheVeryHangryCaterpillar · 17/03/2020 16:02
Have you looked on amazon pantry recently? Unless you want 24 protein bars it's not much use at the minute!
midgebabe · 17/03/2020 16:11
So lucky to have an amazing friend who can help out. Just hope she isn't rationed as she shopping for 2 households.

Do any of your local greengrocer’s deliver? A few do in our area. Some bakers and butchers too. They might step it up at this time
RishiSunakFanClub · 17/03/2020 16:27
I used to place my order on a Thursday for Saturday delivery but that's no longer possible. I was fortunate to book one for this Saturday and next week and have today booked one for 5th April. I think we are going to need to plan a lot further ahead in the coming weeks.
InDubiousBattle · 17/03/2020 16:37
If at all possible they go to the supermarket. Even the most stringent isolation rules acknowledge that people need to eat and allow people to go shopping for food and medicine. Given that there aren't infinite delivery slots available isn't there an argument for those who are fit, showing no symptoms and can drive to the supermarket to do so, leaving the delivery slots for those who can't?
ClashCityRocker · 17/03/2020 17:56
Indubious I have just cancelled my online delivery slot for that reason. Rather have it go to someone who actually couldnt go the shops when I can manage.
DoYouRememberTheInnMiranda · 17/03/2020 17:59
I'm thinking the same. Ocado were closing to new customers I think, but actually regular customers like me who use it for convenience not need, should be bottom of the list for slots, not those who have turned to online shopping now out of a need to stay at home (especially if it's for the benefit of everyone else, not them)
LoudBatPerson · 17/03/2020 18:00
I was able to put in an order with Abel and Cole yesterday, could be worth trying them?
nickblainesmistress · 17/03/2020 18:06
A lot of local farm shops, cafes, restaurants and small grocers are starting to offer deliveries in our area. Might be worth asking around to see if anything similar local? Good luck x
