Fuel shortages

I live in a small town with three petrol stations. Two of which have today run out of fuel, mostly due to all the country folk filling up their car and then a jerry can! I have no idea where people think they will be going if we are effectively on lockdown.

I’m a police officer but based 45 miles from home and I’m now worried about actually getting to work when I go back from rest days. Is this happening anywhere else?

Not yet.
Re work, you’d normally have to go to your nearest station and present there for duty rather than yours 45 miles away ( unless of course that is the nearest). If the fuel crisis police were allowed fuel.

I do have a station in walking distance, different force though and it seems a bit daft rocking up without my uniform and kit! We will just have to see how it unfolds I guess...

Yes, I had that problem re kit once.
People local to the nick were encouraged to put up colleagues too.
