Are you eating your stored food now to avoid going to the supermarket?

Just wondering what to do about groceries. Haven't stockpiled or anything but if I needed to self-isolate tomorrow we would manage (family of 4) with help of friends plus freezer etc.

However until we need to self-isolate I'm having to buy food as usual from the supermarket. I thought I'd be able to 'distance' there but it was carnage today so obviously there is some risk in going. Not much freezer space so can't buy loads more than usual really.

I thought about eating the frozen/stored food to avoid going out but want to save it till we need it. Have an ocado booked for 9 days time but can't rely on it all actually turning up.

What's everyone else doing?

I'm buying fresh stuff and eating it as I usually would, trying to leave tins and the freezer food in case we need it when I can't get fresh stuff later.

No, because I may need the tinned and dried stuff more later on. We don't know yet how all this is going to pan out. Right now we can still get supermarket food as usual (apart from a few products). Buy your normal amount but make sure you still have supplies there if you have to self-isolate.

I did get my Ocado delivery as usual this morning with no subs or missing items, which was a relief.

no - still trying to keep (sensibly) topped up for now as things are going to get much worse in the coming months.

So everyone's going to supermarkets?

Ideally we'd all be getting deliveries and saving the stored food, but that's not going to happen!

I'm maintaining my stores by getting deliveries/nipping out to the shops for fresh food when required. The only thing we need to leave the house for is Lidl nappies so I'll probably buy a couple of big packs in the next couple of days (assuming they have stock).
