Anyone keeping their DCs at home?

I work from home so having DCs at home wouldn't affect me too much.

Every day a few more children in their classes (they are Years 7 and 8) are absent due to parents making that decision.

I have elderly parents but obviously won't be able to see much of them very soon apart from delivering food to their door and DH has very mild asthma.

I'm trying to trust what the government is saying re the decision to not close schools but still feel unsure what to do.

I’m wondering this aswell, I’m not working as I’m a carer for dd with disabilities so should I be keeping mine at home? Do you just tell the school you’re removing them? Guessing it won’t be authorised

I hope they do thin out, it will be better for everyone trapped in the school.

Yes. I was in London with DH last week at hospital all week and have a dry cough now.
We have to be bug free for when (all being ok) DH gets out in a few weeks.
I’m a teacher and they will get a Y. The office staff I spoke to this morning said loads were off.

So yes, authorised.

Yes got one child with a hacking cough, so we all self isolating for 14 days. Seems fun for now but i will ne pulling my hair out by next week. Going to draw up some kind of routine

Yes, I'm keeping mine off. I told them I have a cough so we're self isolating but that was a strategic lie.

We're going to homeschool and keep away from people.

We both WFH so it's easier for us, I know we're lucky to be in this position (some consolation for being skint all the time I guess!).

BaconAndAvocado don't leave it up to Boris to decide what to do with your DC. He's a buffoon who doesn't even parent his own DC responsibly much less care about yours.

If you want to take them out, go for it. Loads of homeschooling resources online.
