Isn't this all a bit pointless?

Socially isolating, self isolating etc

Given that the virus has been in the country for a few weeks now and that the children are still at school? Delivery drivers and postmen are still working too. Plenty of people can't afford to self isolate (a dinner lady can't work from home and probably can't live on SSP). People who receive home care cannot self isolate and nor can their carers. Many restaurants are starting to do takeaways for this first time too.

I'd imagine that most people will have been exposed to by now.

It almost feels like the gov just felt like they needed to be seen to be doing something, so issued some confusing guidance. And given by the amount of confused threads on here, it is confusing.

i think it's better than the previous plan. my work place was dead yesterday which means less risk to me going to work as we have no option to work from home. people are self isolating when any symptoms show which means less of other winter bugs floating about as well.
