Sorry if this is a stupid question but is the current advice for all retuning travellers to UK to self isolate for 14 days or just of you're coming back from certain places? I've been going round in circles online but can't seem to find a concrete answer. We're not due to come home til May so hoping things will have calmed down by then but just thinking about the logistics of how we'd manage it if we had to.

Sorry to state the bleeding obvious, but we cannot predict now what the system will be then

May is within 12 weeks, so expect restrictions to remain in force and possibly tighten.

Plan for all contingencies, including isolation and travel restrictions

But do you actually know, out of interest? I couldn't find it.

Go to www.gov.uk there is a red banner at the top which has all the latest advice if you click on it.

Thanks, I did have a look through that already but I could see advice specifically for returning citizens. There was one page about it but it said the advice was withdrawn a few days ago. I'll have another dog through it, maybe am being thick.

Just ask the border people when you come back, or the airlines at the airport. Anything could happen change between now and May.

Itsnotlikemilkingacow · 17/03/2020 10:06

I guess it may not cover your specific situation, which is a bit crap for you when you just want to know what is going on! But that us where the govt advice is, so anything else we might come up with is just likely to be speculation at this point.

Yeah it's a bit tricky because DPs van is at BILs house and he would normally drive to pick us up and we stay with them a night but obviously not possible of suddenly needed to SI. Not sure what would do then - taxi and train both involve contact with people too, so not sure. Trying to plan for different scenarios!

Sky news!
The government didn't realise that demand would out strip supply by such a great degree.

8 times more than they thought so they had to run the computer model again. Confused

OK.
How long did it take for China to realise bed capacity and actually build a huge make shift hospital!

I could have told them that Hmm

Ventilatorshortage · 17/03/2020 10:13

Sorry that was in relation to high depends death
