Renewing passport

It is time for me to renew my passport but I'm afraid I won't be able to do this right now because I really don't want to go out to some local offices to so that. I know I can apply online but how much time will it take now? Or am I just being a drama queen and I should go and take a picture of me and then apply for the new passport in the office?

Just do it online. There's no need to leave the house other than to post your old passport. I suspect it will arrive well before you need it!

I'd probably just do it, but you won't need it for a while. Might as well start the process.

I wouldn't risk and probably would apply online. You don't even have to go out to get your photo, just use one of yours and crop it in some passport photo tool (last time I used passport-photo-software.com/). You probably won't need it for a while so your new passport will come just in time.

It's cheaper online and just as quick as by post TBH.
