TUI holidays cancelled???

I'm.really confused. The news I have googled is saying TUI have suspended most package holidays but I can find no clarity on their website. We have a holiday booked for May half term but no where does it say it is cancelled. What is going on? Also Butlins information is out of date. We are meant to be going in less than two weeks. We have spent a lot of money on these two holidays, are they still going on?!!

I'm afraid lots of companies are cancelling but haven't updated websites. Eg Ryanair still shows flights to book that are cancelled. There will be such a huge outcry with Tui and Butlins that I guess it will be hard to get through. Perhaps try first thing? Sorry 🥽💐

I didn't mean the goggles or whatever - pressed by accident while looking for flowers!

ArtisanBreadBin · 17/03/2020 06:55

The website is very clear. Are you sure you're looking in the right place?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/03/2020 06:56

You just need to wait and see. Travel agents are up to their eyeballs right now sorting out people who were supposed to go imminently! No one possibly knows what will be happening in May. I'm booked for Butlins in April, they will be reviewing the situation daily. Just sit tight and they will be in touch if you get cancelled.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/03/2020 06:57

And DO NOT call them at the moment about a May holiday, they are far too busy sorting people who were supposed to go this month and trying to get stuck people home.

Whatishappening098 · 17/03/2020 06:59

I'm with Tui in may too. Will be following if you get any info

SnoozyLou · 17/03/2020 06:59

The government are talking about imposing a 30 day travel ban on non essential trips to Europe.

middleager · 17/03/2020 07:01

It's worrying when so much money is at stake, but you need to be patient as they will be swamped right now.

The country is going into lockdown. Look at France, Spain then Italy to see what's coming.

Holidays will be off for a while I'm afraid.

soccerbabe · 17/03/2020 07:02

as of 14th March, Butlins stance is it is business as usual:-[https://www.butlins.com/help-contact/resort-updates]

but whether that changes in light of Cobra yesterday, who knows.

Regarding the TUI holiday - I imagine that TUI themselves don't know what the situation is going to be in May, so won't have any definitive answers.

Hippywannabe · 17/03/2020 07:02

Us too but I fully expect to not be going. Tui will refund though so I don't know whether to eventually change it for October and hope this is all over or take the money in case we need it to get through this.

Sux2buthen · 17/03/2020 07:06

Butlins posted on Instagram last night that despite their earlier message they were now reconsidering everything. Due to the mass gathering advice. They are going to update soon, from what I gather they will refund or replace

FAQs · 17/03/2020 07:07

Live chat them, I did yesterday and the woman who helped me was really useful.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 17/03/2020 07:08

My family are going to try to reschedule theirs for next year but as we are in May, I don't imagine they will hear until mid April

LoudBatPerson · 17/03/2020 07:12

Probably too early to be sure about the TUI holiday. You will have to wait.

I would give up on the idea of Butlins in the next couple of weeks, most likely Butlins will cancel. However even if they don't, everyone is being advised to avoid non essential social contact. A holiday is certainly not essential contact.

Keepgoing88 · 17/03/2020 07:38

Will try to patiently wait then!
