School and work

Have now been told to work from home indefinitely.

What I can not grasp is why the schools are staying open when all big gatherings and socialising have been now told to stop. Schools are hot beds for germs and all the parents who have been told to keep away from others are all having to see mingle during the school run. Is it just me who thinks this makes no sense?

I have held off panic buying and just stuck to my usual weekly shop but I'm thinking this morning I need to go out and buy a few extra bits.

My child's school has less than 10 children average in each class.. parents have made their own decisions.

Yes of course I understand if you cannot avoid being at work. However if you CAN it would seem to be the most sensible way forward.

It seems the majority of parents in our local schools have made their own decisions. We really don't need to wait for the government to make the decisions about our child's/vulnerable family members health.

Hi OP

Already in the UK children as young as newborn have been affected with the coronavirus.
Yes elderly people are at greater risk but what the government are not understanding is we are all at risk.

I have kept my children off school since Monday as they are asthmatic. They are at greater risk.

The PM has stated already that we should prepare to lose loved ones. Why would you make that statement.

The PM has contradicted himself on so many levels.

I would urge anyone with children to keep them home

Us teachersare just having a fab time playing what we are calling virus roulette. I guess they are thinking save teacher pensions by infecting us all, after playing Kids are fine! As we say while washing our hands while little Johnny sneezes in our face.
