Hi op

Not surprising your feeling crap at all. The whole situation is very crap.

Do you have the things you need? Or a way of getting them?

hi op. Another single mum here. My dd13 got a high fever last weds and has been self isolating since last thurs but now 9 more days to go . I broke the news to dd about this this evening and she was devastated.
We put a bit of structure to her day today and I have done the same tomorrow when ds10 will also be home due to the new guidelines. I have broken the day into chunks so they will do half hour yoga, an hour of language learning, arts and crafts for an hour then will do a project in the afternoon. Finding out about a country then learning its national anthem and performing it at the end of the day. hopefully it will keep them busy and at least learning something. I meanwhile will be trying to work from home for the full day and I cant sleep cos of the anxiety of all this! great!

pisspants · 17/03/2020 02:17

You’re in my worst nightmare. No advice but from one single mum to the other I’m thinking of you.

Zena1973 · 17/03/2020 20:20

Sending much love from 1 single mum of 3 to you all. I'm waiting for one of us to show signs....keep strong and keep talking! We are all here for eachother!

Zacharyezrarawlings · 17/03/2020 20:23

pisspants According to Giv advice page though dd doesn't have to do another 9 days:
"After 7 days, if the first person to become ill feels better and no longer has a high temperature, they can return to their normal routine. If any other family members become unwell during the 14-day household-isolation period, they should follow the same advice - that is, after 7 days of their symptoms starting, if they feel better and no longer have a high temperature, they can also return to their normal routine." so it is just the rest of the family that need to continue to isolate.

pisspants · 18/03/2020 00:52

thanks @zach but after the governments change in policy the school has said that anyone already self isolating needed to extend it to 2 weeks. They knew the reason my dd was off so I couldnt now just send her in. TBH I feel happier having my youngest here as he is a filth bag! I keep wondering if I might have it but mildly. No cough but my chest has felt quite weird for about a week now.

Stilllivinginazoo · 18/03/2020 03:29

Sending hugs and checking in.dd15 has raging sore throat and pressure on chest.strong words said to dd12 for "bringing it in.if you weren't such a feral creature and washed your hands more we all would be ok" funtimes...
