Parents corona package

Elderly parents and I was thinking of things to help them from going stir crazy when lock down happens.

They are a huge part of our lives and see the Dc almost everyday. Myself and DH I am sure will be more than kept entertained during a lock down with Dh daily antics so I don’t think we will be board but my parents are both late 70’s and DD has more limited mobility.

I was thinking of a little package to keep them going perhaps some magazines for mum and a book for dad, sweets a nice candle to burn. Anyone have any ideas both practical or just little things to help ease what I think will be a long lock down for us all.

I am also thinking of getting the child a few things a new board game or something similar?

Wine for me and DH

If they have a garden then maybe things to plant?

GrumpyHoonMain · 16/03/2020 23:55

Netflix with accounts for all the adults? Do your parents have access to a tablet or phone so they can skype / face time their friends?

Jigsaw? Sudoku/ crossword book?

Yes great ideas thanks. @GrumpyHoonMain I was just looking at the Portal thing from Facebook and wondering if this or the ALEXA with the screen would be good. They do have FaceTime but they always end up pointing it at the ceiling or up someone’s nostrils 🙄 They have the full sky package so have all the movies etc.

@Jamieson90think I could even get them something Small to plant inside as the steps can be tricky for dad down into the garden.

@HotGlueGun you just gave me and idea ! I am sure I seen one of those photo places that do jigsaws I could get one done with the DC,s on it and the dog!

Anyone with any other ideas or even practical ideas which I’ve not thought of apart from getting them toilet roll 🙄

Does you mum knit or sew? I'm going to go into town later and buy some wool and a pattern or two. I won't send it yet but will do in a few weeks time when she is going stir crazy.
Do they have stacks of printed photos still? If so, a couple of albums to arrange those into?

Craft kits? Books? Scrabble? Pack of cards? Magazines/ weekly craft subscription things?
