Which international political leader would you choose if you could?

If you've been watching Coronavirus TV with the various leaders giving statements, if you could choose one of the existing options to be your nations leader in Coronavirus times who would you choose?

I thought Macron was very impressive today. He had the right balance of authority, inspirationally pulling people together, with frankness. He would totally get my vote. To me he projected the kind of confidence and realistic competence you want in a leader at this time.

Nicola Sturgeon would be my second choice I think.

Boris looks like he is totally out of his depth IMO. He signed up for a jolly glad-handing King of the World job with glamour and travel and delegation to others. I think fate dealt him much more than he can chew. Including another child.

Jacinda Ardern

Not just on CV.

RJnomore1 · 16/03/2020 22:37

Is Jurgen Klopp an option here?

silenceofthemams · 16/03/2020 22:44

Simonetta Sommaruga President of CH.

"The situation is serious but there is no reason to panic,"

"We have the medical and financial means to cope with the difficult situation,"

It's all very well organised, people seem quite calm and understanding of the situation.

President Bartlett. Every time.

Is Jurgen Klopp an option here?

@RJnomore1 No - we are saving him for when we need to really go to war! I love him. He's a joyous inspiration. I bet he is great to work for!

Lumene Grin

Love him! Wish he were an option do we know where Martin Sheen is?

poshme · 16/03/2020 22:51

Bartlett.

ChillinInMyBacta · 16/03/2020 22:56

Jacinta, New Zealand will get through this due to quick responses, and not being afraid to take action for fear of being criticised or being over cautious. Dithering and waiting to see if you have chosen the best path can be catastrophic.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 16/03/2020 23:08

This is cheating a bit, but after his 2015 TED talk in which he pretty much foresaw the current pandemic and what would be required to combat it, I'd have to give Bill Gates the job.

Closer to home, I'd bring in Rory Stewart, who seems to have a bit more gumption than Boris.

Mylittlepony374 · 16/03/2020 23:09

Jacinda Adern. No question.

HooverVacuum · 20/03/2020 22:06

This was Boris Johnson just 17 days ago bragging about shaking hands with people

Now we are told to social distance and pubs and restaurants are closed.

Why did it take so long for what was very obvious from Italy and China to filter through?
