DH is currently in hospital for 2 weeks of itv antibiotics for his chronic lung condition. He’s understandably anxious and clearly fits in the group that will be staying at home for 12 weeks (or more) once he gets discharged. 16yr old Dd got a snotty nose and dry cough 9 days ago and has continued coughing. At the time she first developed it, DH and DS also had snotty noses, but DS got better quickly. The advice at that stage was only for close contacts of infected people or those that had travelled to relevant places to be tested, so we didn’t do anything, although she stayed off school 4 days last week (school refusal is quite a problem with DD at the moment). DH tested negative on admission to hospital 5 days ago. DDs cough has persisted, so yesterday I phoned 111 and was reassured no need to anything different and v unlikely to be Coronavirus. Today, DH tells me that we all need to isolate for the remainder of 14 days- despite obviously having been told something completely different yesterday by 111. I’m not so sure. She was already beyond the 7 day window that we were previously operating under. Do we now isolate for the remaining 5 days, or not?
