Does anyone else wish the government would give clear and concise instructions to us rather than woolly statements.
I work in retail and have been chatting to people today. No one I chatted to had a bloody clue what they were meant to be doing to keep themselves safe, that includes many elderly people.
Boris gives a speech today , stay in , but go out to exercise WTF?, people will just go out, and whilst they are out they might as well pop to the shop.
I despair

Also it's just guidance, how many people will ignore it because it's guidance and not inforced.

It’s all the kind of language people use when they are trying to avoid being held responsible/being sued.

AutumnLeavesSeptember · 16/03/2020 19:31

That's the problem with changing it daily. Nightmarish!

Zacharyezrarawlings · 16/03/2020 19:40

It's a bloody joke. I work in the NHS. The posters we have up waitin in the waiting room are now displaying advice that is wrong by 2 more recent updates. No wnonder people dont have a clue what they are meant to be doing.

I agree. I’m getting really annoyed. I had 2 colleagues who share an office with me (both sitting just over 1m from me), whose partners are highly likely to have it (one of whom is an A&E doctor), there partners are home sick. They came in today because government advice was only isolate if you’re symptomatic. Today government advice is isolate the household for 14 days. Well fat lot of good that will do me if they passed it on to me today.
And when Boris Johnson described ‘flattening the curve’ as ‘squashing the sombrero’ I literally wanted to punch him in the face.
I want to trust our government but I’m seriously beginning to wonder if they have a clue.

BarbedBloom · 16/03/2020 19:46

I agree. It is so vague and all 'we advise.' A lot of people are panicking because they are confused now.

TheQueef · 16/03/2020 19:47

I've followed the WHO for a while, this has been so under estimated.
Under the circumstances I'm sticking to the guys with no skin in the game.

LuxLFC · 16/03/2020 19:47

Yes I do, so that people would stop making threads asking the same thing someone else has already asked. It's hard enough to keep up as it is!

CoronaIsComing · 16/03/2020 19:53

YES

CoronaIsComing · 16/03/2020 19:54

Even Donald Trump is beginning to sound clear and concise compared to Boris 😂

LuxLFC · 16/03/2020 19:57

They need clear info, the briefings need to interrupt regular programming on several channels to reach as many people as possible & they need to have all the info readily available immediately afterwards.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 16/03/2020 19:58

I agree the advice has been changeable. However l went for a walk to get exercise today and l ot saw two other people. Not everyone lives in the metropolis. You have to stay fit to help fight this, and stay sane.

FecktheBoss · 16/03/2020 20:11

Bojo press conference is isolate for 14 days. Matt Hancock, an hour or so later is isolate for 7 days - make up your fucking minds
