My ds has autism, I am wanting to start to prepare him for the potential of having to self isolate, has anyone written a social story or done some other preparation?

Or general tips we can share.

Thank you

Two of my kids have autism. One doesn’t really have any understanding the other is anxious. Hope your little one is managing okay.

As a mother of an autistic child (if he's anything like mine) I would be preparing yourself for the self isolation

GrinThanks Wine (p.s lots of the last one!)

Thank you for this - thanks to today's announcement we're now all in self-isolation. Not at all sure how we're going to survive this as DS has only just got into his preschool routine after half term, and now that's gone again. He absolutely doesn't understand why we can't go out

One of mine will happily self isolate. The other need the routine of school but we have a decent sized garden. Poor eldest ends up stepping in as middle dc dislikes youngest sibling. Autism definitely doesn’t give them a close bond. Good luck to all.

Thank you all, and good luck to all those trying to get through this. This is potentially a difficult time - not least because ds (12) and dd2 (8) (NT) fight really badly.

I have used the recommended links to start formulating a social story. I have used a site called Widget Online. It helps write SS, you get a free 21 day trial, so worth it if only for this.
