Covid
help me decide

I've seen a couple of threads of people asking shall I do xyz (re corona virus) and the answers always feel clearer from an outside perspective. So perhaps Mumsnet you can help me see the answers for my life...
I work from home, so that bit is easy. Currently we are all well. The only reasons to leave the house are:
School parents evening (secondary school Y7). would you go?
Private music instrument lesson for DC - a gathering of me, teacher and DC. would you go?
A work trip to recce a venue for a July event. would you go?
A meet up of 4 friends. would you go?
chillied · 16/03/2020 16:04
Well that was clear and decisive! Thanks - that's what I mean. Other people's lives look clearer from the outside.
PickAChew · 16/03/2020 16:09
No way.
Teacher needs the income so please pay them if you cancel.
Possibly pointless. Can arrange closer to the time.
Meet friends outdoors, if you must, or stick to digital communication.
CoronaToner · 16/03/2020 16:11
Yes yes yes yes
(As long as none of you have any symptoms or concerns that you might have come I to contact with CV, or any underlying health conditions)
chillied · 16/03/2020 16:17
Thanks guys, really helps to see all the perspectives from No way to yes!!
ScrimpshawTheSecond · 16/03/2020 16:17

if you're outside, nobody is ill and you keep a good 6foot distance.

Can the recce do done nearer the time?
This could go on for months, small businesses simply won't survive every healthy person staying inside for the foreseeable future.
chillied · 16/03/2020 16:22
I guess if we were in an Italian or Spain style lockdown (which we should be) these would all be an automatic no, wouldn't they
chillied · 16/03/2020 16:24
In normal circumstances we'd need to book the July venue asap because the venues get booked up. Hence the recce now, to help decide which venue. However, far from normal circumstances now!
IceColdCat · 16/03/2020 16:26
Yes I would go to all (assuming you're still feeling fine).
You say you work from home, but you don't say if your DC are attending school, so I assume they are? If so there's not much point missing any of these.
Seventyone72seventy3 · 16/03/2020 16:28
I'm in Italian lockdown which influenced my response! However, I wish someone had told me no a few weeks ago when I was making decisions.
chillied · 16/03/2020 16:35
icecoldcat - yes, 2 DC still going to secondary school. I don't know how I feel about that. I wish the government would close the schools but I see no sign of that.
Seventyone - wishing you so much good luck in Italy. Though I think we are only just behind you in terms of events. What would have been different for you if you'd stayed home earlier?
