Could I have already had it?

Sorry if there has already been a thread on this, I did look but couldn't find anything.

I'm a frontline ahp working at a huge NHS trust in a city with lots of Chinese students.
In early January this year, I had the most weird of illnesses. At the time I actually put it down to being run down and crying a lot ( our much loved dog died)
But it started as a cough. Really dry and tickly that wouldn't stop. I always get a dry cough after a cold but I had been fine and then this cough appeared out of nowhere.
That was followed by a fever and feeling like I had been kicked all over the place. Still no cold.
The cough then did get looser and I was coughing up blood ( I put this down to the sheer amount of coughing I did) I lost my voice, my stomach muscles and ribs were extremely painful.

However, I did start to sneeze and be bunged up maybe 3/4 days in.
The cough hung around for ages.

I was thinking a lot about it over the weekend and went through the texts I sent to see if the situation was making me think the worst. And I send texts saying I have the worst cough I have ever had but no cold etc
It is obvious reading them back that I found it odd at the time too.

Anyone else have anything like this earlier in the year?
