The more I hear this the more my nose etc starts to itch and I scratch then remember the advice Confused
I'm trying to wash my hands alit more too, they are getting all dry and yuk.
Anyway, why can't we touch our faces, I get rubbing your eyes but surely scratching your cheek is OK?

Because of the transmission risk from hands to mouth/nose/eyes

Because your face is full of mucous membranes through which the virus can gain access to your body.

Your face has a lot of soft wet porous surfaces and ‘open’ cavaties - mouth, eyes, nose. They’re all perfect for germs to gain entry to your system.

It’s the same reason hand washing works. Your hands are a ‘closed’ system so germs can be easily washed off.

So if itching my forehead or cheek OK?

I suppose it’s not a massive risk to you but consider that if you cough or sneeze and cover your mouth/nose there will be microscopic droplets propelled back on to your face so if you touch your face you’ve potentially contaminated your hand and will spread something.

It’s really hard to not overthink it but just keep washing your hands as much as you can and moisturise.
