To suggest to combat Over 70's isolation we organise telephone lists and outdoor street concerts?

Am I being unreasonable to suggest we should all collect our neighbours phone numbers and with their agreement distribute them around our road.
We could then organise open air concerts, maybe open air film nights in a cul de sac and neighbours could keep in touch by phone to avoid loneliness.

We are just calling on a couple of older neighbours today and offering to run messages for them. Why not just do that?

I wouldn't be happy with the whole street having my phone number, just people I know and trust

My parents are self-isolating and I’m fairly sure they be pretty naffed off at music blasting outside. As would I - for some people it’s lovely background noise, for others it’s nails down an aural blackboard from which there is no escape!

Plus OP, I think you are missing the point of self isolation. The idea is to stay away from people, not arrange get-togethers

Your heart is in the right place though and I'm sure there are opportunities to volunteer locally to help out
