“Lockdown” announced here in Washington....will it help?

Governor Inslee has announced measures that basically amount to a lockdown here in Washington state. Schools were closed last week for 6 weeks. Now all restaurants, bars, clubs, cinemas, theatres, shopping centers, gyms, sports facilities, are closed by law until the end of the month at least. Supermarkets and pharmacies can open. Libraries were closed down last week for 2 months. Many office buildings are closed. Our head office closed last week for 3 weeks at least. Gatherings of more than 50 people banned. So sports events, concerts, etc cancelled. He also announced that banks and gas stations will have “reduced capacity”, not sure what he means by that.

This state has the highest rate of cases and deaths in the USA. What are your thoughts on whether these measures will work? I’m interested to see if people will adhere to these new laws. And if it will slow down the virus here.

I think its going to get a lot worse in washington, there has to be thousands infected at this stage there. But hopefully these measures will help flatten the curve somewhat and help to prevent many further infections.

I'm in nevada and can see this being put into effect here soon. We are several weeks behind you guys but it seems to follow the same pattern everywhere
