Nausea?

Sorry for starting yet another thread, but someone earlier who had been tested as positive for COVID19 said their symptoms began with an upset stomach and nausea. I’ve been vomiting for the past three hours, though I don’t feel unwell, just the sickness. No temperature or cough. I’ve a long day at work tomorrow, in a public facing building dealing with people. I don’t have the symptoms noted by the government for isolation, but should I still stay off? I’ll be letting a lot of folk down.

It's not a recognised symptom. Do you have a cough, a fever or are you short of breath?

No, no other symptoms. Hence I was planning to go in. Until I read someone on here saying they started with nausea!

Just googled OP as I had a memory of an interview where someone had said can be a stomach upset just prior to onset. Found a few links and I am sure there are more helpful ones but I have copied them below.

Hopefully that isn't what is going on with you but I think it would be good to be cautious and isolate for now. It's horrid, I hope you feel better.

We do not know for certain if that person tested positive for COVID-19, only their word. I understand and appreciate your concerns - they are for the safety of others. Based on what you say you do not have COVID-19.

In the list of symptoms , nausea is way down the list .
You probably have tummy bug, so should probably stay home tomorrow anyway .

ineedaholidaynow · 16/03/2020 01:16

Why would you be going into work after being sick? Surely normal sickness rules still apply. You might not have to self isolate as such but you shouldn’t be going into work.

My ds currently has a stonkingly high temp and has been feeling sick and been sick 3 times. I'm concerned about what's causing it tbh. No cough at the moment.

If you’ve been vomiting normal sickness rules apply, stay home for 48hours after last symptoms. So you need to be off tomorrow and Tuesday.
