Hmm
Peridot1 · 15/03/2020 23:37

Um. Have you been living under a rock?

Wilmalovescake · 15/03/2020 23:43

Fuxake. I’ve turned the channel too soon. I was looking for Episode Two: Do Bears Shit In Woods.

blinkowl · 15/03/2020 23:55

Ignore the arseholes.

Yes, it's going to get serious. It's not just hype.

managedmis · 15/03/2020 23:55

Yes it's not just flue

LunchBoxPolice · 15/03/2020 23:56

Is it possible to block a whole topic on here? Please?

blinkowl · 15/03/2020 23:59

Yes it is. Although why you'd not want to be well informed about the biggest crisis we've faced in years is a mystery to me.

No idea how to block it though, sorry,

Sunshinesky1981 · 16/03/2020 00:01

It's ok OP, you are not the only one. There is someone on another thread asking if she and her kids should invite all their friends over for a Corona virus party like you would chucked pox so they can help build herd immunity Hmm Not sure how they are planning on finding a volunteer who has virus or if they would be up for letting a group of random children lick them, Grin

Sunshinesky1981 · 16/03/2020 00:01

*Chicken pox

AgnesNaismith · 16/03/2020 00:02

It’s also not just flu

SilverySurfer · 16/03/2020 00:11

It's not serious according to my neighbour who I was suggesting because of her health issues, should be self isolating, I was told 'don't be ridiculous it's just like a bad cold and stop going on about it, it's boring.'

You sound as clued up as her Hmm

SFS

LunchBoxPolice · 16/03/2020 00:21

@blinkowl I don’t need scaremongering on Mumsnet to be well informed.

Theyrecomingtotakemeawayhaha · 16/03/2020 00:24

It is serious as we have no Immunity.
If you read the threads you will find that all sahms children are more at risk than others.
That people with genuine health risks to their or their families health are unsure.
Lots of teachers are worried about seeing their pupils in primary scho
More teachers of secondary pupils are worried about getting GCSE and A level pupils through their exams.
No NHS workers are saying they're not going in to work (and know they will get the virus at some stage)
The elderly will be more resilient and self isolate.
All those saying they will keep their children off school will last isolating them for 2 weeks (who wouldn't) and then be out and about with their little super spreaders.
All we can do is our best, don't criticise the official wisdom,if you're personal circumstances are different to the norm take responsibility.

PhilCornwall1 · 16/03/2020 05:05

@FeeFee382 Eh?? Has your TV been tuned in to CBeebies for the last few weeks?

LightAsTheBreeze · 16/03/2020 05:18

People probably want to block the whole Coronavirus topic because it is full of twatty threads like this. MN needs to sort the wheat from the chaff, an impossible task I know. Shame as a few quite informative threads get lost in all this other shit.

TheRealHousewife · 16/03/2020 05:55

@FeeFee382 Where have you been?

Take some time & self responsibility and educate yourself. There isn’t much support or Consistent guidance from Government.

rosie1959 · 16/03/2020 06:01

From what I have just read on Sky news there will now be daily televised updates from No 10

MaomiMak · 16/03/2020 06:07

Headline news in July 2009

Swine flu could kill 65,000 in UK, warns chief medical officer

It was 457 in actual fact

FeeFee382 · 16/03/2020 18:50

@MaomiMak exactly why I am asking!

Jesus, people on here are horrible!!!!!
