To be disgusted with people shouting they have the coronavirus in the takeaway

Decided to order a takeaway from the local chinese after along day at work and went to collect, go in and I'm waiting for my food an elderly couple are in waiting for their food and are pleasant, two parents come in order food with there 3 children, they were loud and intoxicated and are shouting about the coronavirus saying they have it to another part of their group outside, I looked over and the DF says having ago me and I politely say theres vulnerable people who could potentially get very poorly. They continue to go on and I say it's not really something to joke about. Woman in the takeaway apologises to me and I tell her it's not her fault, as I go to leave one of the dc is stood in the doorway I ask to get past and accidentally catch her foot to which the df gets aggressive ( he been drinking) and tells me not to touch his fucking daughter. Both parents leave their dc and follow me out the DM trys to grab my arm and the DF shouts abuse. I'm amazed people can behave like this let alone parents. Is this really the society in which we live in.

That’s what you get in the local Chinese Takeaway.

I cooked a roast chicken dinner with Yorkshire puddings and no one abused me.

You pays your money and you takes your choice.

You must live in a very rough area. I’ve never seen that in any of ours.

Midnightstar11 · 15/03/2020 22:47

The lady behind the counter was so apologetic it was unfortunate they happened to be customers, the kids were climbing all over the sette there was very little respect. The DF was extremely aggressive and I thought the DM was going to get physical with me the two men was verbally abusive.

@DesdemonaDryEyes what the fuck are you talking about?

😂😂😂

Anyways, OP - this is AIBU. People usually post here because they want to know whether they are being/have been unreasonable. What part of your story do you think that applies to?

WorraLiberty · 15/03/2020 22:55

DesdemonaDryEyes What the actual fuck are you on? Confused

OP, of course you're not being unreasonable.

Pissed adults shouting abuse in takeaways is never reasonable.

WorraLiberty · 15/03/2020 22:56

And I voted YABU

Not because I think you are, but because I think it's fucking obvious you're not Grin

user1473878824 · 15/03/2020 22:58

I can only assume @DesdemonaDryEyes cooked her roast while draped in a sterile Union Jack.

Midnightstar11 · 15/03/2020 23:02

I guess my aibu is was I right to reply back to them and engage with them and tell them it's not something to joke about. I wouldn't normally say anything but the fact they said something when I looked and just thought it was all abig joke. I have vulnerable family a nephew with cystic fibrosis and a father who has terminal cancer a mother with a heart condition, what was worse was the kids were joking about it aswell.

@DesdemonaDryEyes you cooked a roast chicken - well done! You superior being you.

JackiFazaki · 15/03/2020 23:15

YANBU. An older relative with disabilities goes to the gym most mornings. Yesterday one of the younger regulars came over and decided it was funny to cough and hack and splutter all over him as a " joke". Bastard.

CorianderLord · 15/03/2020 23:24

They're drunken racists. Apparently friends with the PP who believes it's to be expected at a Chinese restaurant

I hope the staff were informed about the nasty bastard.

DesdemonaDryEyes · 15/03/2020 23:48

😂

Lifeasweknow · 15/03/2020 23:48

AIBU to use You pays your money and you takes your choice. as my new life motto?

Imstillskanking · 15/03/2020 23:51

You often find drunk people acting the bollocks in takeaways late at night. I would just forget about it now and move on.

UsernameUnknownn · 15/03/2020 23:56

Des probably because your 100+ cats don't talk back? 🤪

Disgusting behaviour by them OP. I probably would've shoved a few chicken balls down her throat, CF.

PawPawNoodle · 16/03/2020 01:15

@DesdemonaDryEyes I don't think that Status Quo had a minor barney in a Chinese take-away in mind when they wrote that song (or indeed the age-old argument of whether a Chinese take-away trumps a chicken dinner..)

@Midnightstar11 I don't think I would have bothered saying anything to a group of clearly intoxicated people who have already shown that they have little regard for others, I'm not sure what other outcome you expected really.

OhLook · 16/03/2020 01:23

You were being unreasonable to do anything other than avoid eye contact with pissed up idiots who shout in the takeaway.

worlybear · 16/03/2020 05:43

They were twats.

Baddit · 16/03/2020 07:12

Meh takeaways have always attracted idiots. T'was ever thus. You're not wrong to be annoyed but I feel worse for the poor people who work there and are probably getting this racist abuse every day.

DysonFury · 16/03/2020 07:19

Unfortunately 'calling out' scum rarely ends well.

Sounds like a good way to get a black eye these days
