worldometer recovery stats

Apologies if this has been answered in another thread, but why is BJ so determined for so many of us to catch this virus that so far, only 20 out of 1391 people in the UK have recovered from?

Yes, I appreciate that for 'many', it's mild, but the stats don't really reflect this, even when you consider that the recovery count includes many people who were tested based on contact tracing, unlike now when you appear to have to be very ill to be even given a test.

The recovery stats I don’t think are reliable as they need to test three times to see if recovered, so basically not updated.

And second question... why is BJ so determined for so many of us to catch it when the long term effects of it are not known? I haven't seen this asked anywhere and it worries me, especially as some SARS patients went on to have long term issues.

it was updated today - up from 18 to... 20.

They just don't have that data for positive outcomes. I'd guess the ones in hospital for the duration may be tested enough times to get the 'all clear' but otherwise there's no data for it.

There's enough shit going on without looking for conspiracies where there are none.

Re: the second question, because if we (those who are younger and at lower risk) get it, we likely recover and hopefully the herd immunity aspect comes into play.

The alternative is whoever gets it gets it and the at risk people die.

Surviving but with possible but seemingly not a given long term affects is sadly the better option
