Anyone else feel that this virus has brought our the absolute worst in a lot of people? Mumsnet can be a spiky place at the beat of times, but the sheer volume of smug, sanctimonious, bitchy, fearmongering, selfish, unkind, condescending, thoughtless posts I’ve seen in the last few days is astonishing.

Yes! I think people are scared which is understandable but not an excuse.
The scary thing about this virus is having to trust other people to do the right thing to minimise the spread and that’s not something that’s in our nature to do anymore and for good reason most of the time! Well it’s not in mine anyway.

I think you’re right. And having seen the horrible behaviour of a lot of MNers I have even less trust than I did before...!

I’ve only just started actually using Mumsnet and didn’t realise what a horrid place it was! I thought it was a place for support, and I can’t fathom why people are so rude to each other. I would never talk to anybody the way I’ve seen some people talk to others on here. So sad. Will be swiftly leaving mumsnet!

@KeysDontBelongInTheFridge I’m considering deleting my account as well - it’s turned into nothing more than a source of obsessive anxiety.
