Lockdown with a one year old

We live on mainland Europe and aren’t in lockdown yet like Spain or Italy, but it could well come soon. The nurseries have closed. We have a very active 14-month old (but not yet walking) and I’m wondering if anyone has any good tips for playing/games/indoor entertainment for if we are stuck in so we don’t all go crazy. We have a small balcony but no garden. I’ve stocked up on a couple of new toys as quite frankly I’m bored of his already, and I imagine TV time will increase, but any other ideas? (We did playing with a tub of spaghetti a few weeks ago but I don’t think that’s an option any more for obvious reasons)

The one thing that always gives me at least an hour of peace. Massive cardboard box, plonk child inside. give child crayons.

for the balcony:
-attach a few mirrors to the railings
-water play tub, put some corks and boats in and fill with warm water

  • get a large storage tub, fill with sand and a couple of sand toys and let your dc climb in. will look like this
-rocking caterpillar

for indoors:
-music toys (maracas, drums)
-singing
-indoor ball pit like this
-play tent tunnel

all the best x
