Workplace closures and pay?

I am very fortunate to work in an office and have the ability to wfh should we need to close or the schools shut.

My husband however works in retail and is worried what will happen if his place shuts down.

His boss has said if he is off (day for a school closure) that he needs to take holiday or unpaid. However, what would happen if the company closed down through their own choice or a government lockdown?

Does anyone have any accurate information?

This link is for travel disruption

& generally if your employer chooses to close down outwith normal periods for whatever reason you should be paid but I think for this it'll depend on government guidelines
