Putting self isolating people together

MIL is over 70. DH is immunocompromised. I've been trying to work out how he can self isolate in our house, it's doable but would be very difficult, especially if for months on end.

Then I thought he could go and live with his mum? She's not local but he can easily wfh anywhere.

He would not be happy at all, she would love it, and I think it's a very practical solution as he is not then restricted to one room.

What do people think?

Would he do it, though? If he doesn't want to.

I'm in a slightly different position - I have ms and my immune system is barely existant, dh is recovering from a nasty op and still has some infection and is on anti-biotics and is still rather frail and weak, dd also has a compromised immune system but is at Uni - in a city which is rife with CV, her Uni is showing no signs of closing despite many other Unis doing so.

Do I suggest dd comes home and all of us hole up together? She may not have picked it up yet but she may have it already without showing symptoms.......

@Jux, he definitely won't want to but hopefully he'll see the reason why it makes sense. He's away right now which I think is irresponsible but nothing I can do now.

In your situation I'm not sure it's a good idea for DD to come home. She might be infected but symptomless at the moment as you say.

Perhaps if she came home but immediately self isolated for 2 weeks? Then you know none of you are infected and don't have to self isolate after that.

I don't know though.

We know that someone in our small town has it; there has just been an announcement at the Uni that there is a confirmed case on campus, so dh is going to get her later today. Not really possible for her to self-isolate in the house, so we're just going to muck in as usual here at home. When she gets back we'll talk about how/whether to isolate ourselves here or not. We'll get advice, I have to call the doc tomorrow anyway.
