Hi

So as of tomorrow any gatherings indoors of over 100 and outdoors over 500 is to stop. How will this work when it comes to lunchtime in dinner halls? Any Scottish teachers etc have any idea?

Thanks

No word about exams though?

They whole thing is vague, i don't know if we're allowed to open. Have msp raising questions so might find out tomorrow.

Nicola S said the schools exam position will be announced tomorrow.

Schools will still be 'open', but only to an extent. Pupils of essential workers (as yet undefined!) will be able to attend, as will those who are classed as vulnerable. I think continuing to supply free school meals is a priority. Teachers have been asked to volunteer to ensure this happens. So it is possible that exams will be going ahead. Things are just so up in the air at the moment. A lot of decisions are yet to be made.

I have to admit a bit of a concern for the vulnerable kids. The approach down south seems to be schools open to keyworkers kids and vulnerable children specifically those with a social worker or ehcp.

I could foresee it taking about 10 seconds for the kids to figure out which kid is in the vulnerable category and bullying to start

Each local authority will make it's own plans to provide for hunger/vulnerable/ key worker childcare. However, a few scattered "hubs" seem the likely model . How these will be staffed is unclear. One LA has asked all teachers to report for work Monday . I assume only voluntary basis will be manageable tho

Around 95% of my p1 class of 60 are vulnerable for one reason or for many. If they aren't at school I don't see where bullying would come from anyway. I'm truly worried for some of my pupils but I have DC at home and an a lone parent so probably not much I'll be able to do to help

I think we can expect another announcement today

Text conversation with my daughter this morning after she arrived at high school:

Her: "There are about all of six people here..."
Me: "Any of them teachers?"
Her: "Yeah but there are more canteen staff."

This is the same girl who told me this morning that she was going to ask if she could stay on after school on Friday to finish off a project.

The kids already know this. Anyway many of the kids who will still be at school will have mum who is a retail worker and dad who is a delivery driver. So just there because their parents are key workers.
