Obviously measures have to be put in place for patients and staff but it also can’t be avoided that that are frontline medical staff, there are stories of closed doors and over run A&E departments.
In Italy some GPs have been drafted onto inpatient wards and whilst that might be necessary there is so much they can do in the community supporting people who don’t need to be admitted and facilitating discharges out of hospital.
