Hygiene when shopping

I wipe the handle of the trolly with an antiseptic wipe, don't touch my face whilst I'm there, and use hand sanitiser after I've finished. I saw one person shopping wearing disposable gloves, but didn't see any evidence of anyone else doing anything specific. Anyone else got any tips for safe shopping?

Read last night on here about someone going shopping in marigolds. Made me howl.

Why? If I had hands which couldn't stand thorough washing, I'd consider wearing gloves. Marigolds might be a good choice as they're not wasteful single use - presumably the wearer can wash them when they get home.

Because I have an off kilter sense of humour.

Apparently.

Also my late mum was in the WRVS and she had to have an emergency bucket at the ready at all times containing a pint of milk and a pair of marigolds.
