Scaremongering

Fed up of all the peoplescaremongering and the panic. That’s what’s gonna kill us not the virus. People saying they just have a cough and are self isolating. That’s not the virus, you have to have a temperature also otherwise it is classed as a cold unless you have the fever too. It’s on the who page.
Also this will carry on and probably return so we will all end up getting it at some point, we need to develop immunity to it for it to die down!

You're very poorly informed. Yet you feel on a position to start a MN thread asking us to calm down. Start by reading our government's latest advice, and keep your opinions to yourself.

BarbedBloom · 15/03/2020 10:22

You're wrong, read the government advice. Also being an immune suppressant asthmatic I would rather not get it

Kmx123 · 15/03/2020 10:24

Your wrong

Fatasfooook · 15/03/2020 10:24

Everyone will get it, but if everyone gets it at once then a whole lot of people will die that could have been saved. Self isolating and social distancing will slow the rate of infection and will hopefully ease the pressure on the nhs.

A tsunami is coming, and we are shouting at the people standing on the beach. You can call it scaremongering if you want.

bringmelaughter · 15/03/2020 10:29

Current advice from the NHS about when to self isolate (the key word is either:

Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly

Please everyone keep up to date at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

I'm more worried about the people who do develop symptoms and who just carry on, rapidly pushing up the numbers of those infected.

We need to slow it down.
