Visiting elderly parents

Just reading that a lockdown is seriously on the cards for over 70s.
I live about 150 miles from my parents (in their 80s) and haven't seen them for a few weeks. I'd really like to visit them before the lockdown comes into effect. Are there any reasons why I shouldn't do this? I'm currently healthy who knows if I'm already infected?? They have other family to shop for them etc during a lockdown, I just want to see them, especially if they were to get ill and the worst happen.

I'm wondering the same about visiting my grandmother who's 92. She lives about half an hour away but we haven't seen her for a few weeks because I was ill, DD was ill and we've had things on. I'd hate to pass anything on to her but I'm scared in case I don't see her again.

Have exact same concerns for MIL. She's 95. The isolation is really worrying me Sad

@handycuppa it's a horrible, uncertain time. My grandma isn't doing too well just now, she's very frail and is just out of hospital after 6 months. I want to see her but I'm so scared to. I hope you get to see your parents.

@WelshMoth it's very concerning, especially as I'm not sure my parents are taking it very seriously 😐

If no obvious signs or contact with possible infected people, I'd go.
