HI, does anyone know at what temperature we are supposed to self isolate? I have read different things.
Thanks

I believe it’s 37.8.

Underhisi · 14/03/2020 18:00

I read 37.8.

Thanks- that's what I have read in nhs advice and in the guardian about government advice but in actual nhs and phe it says something about high fever which 37.8 I dont think is?

You can't go wrong to isolate at 37.8. You can go wrong if you isolate at a higher temp. So why the question?

FarFrom · 14/03/2020 18:18

Isolating can also mean letting people down when people depend on you. Want to do it if necessary but not if not. Obviously dont want to spread anything if an actual risk.

A temp of above 37.8 is a real risk. It's not about letting people die, it's about isolating so you don't KILL other people. Surely that is much more important? Vulnerable people need to rely on oeople like you to do the right thing to stop this virus so they can live. It's not a game but peoples lives are at stake. Please take this seriously.

I am- honestly. Thanks

Take a baseline temp now if you are not currently with a fever. One in ear and one on forehead.

FarFrom · 14/03/2020 19:01

thanks @chinateapot that's really helpful. But still frustratingly unclear as 37.8 and above is in the definition for inpatient cases but for community cases it just says high fever.

I think it is probably 37.8 and above. But cant (can) believe how unclear it is!
