Am I right to stop visitors?

I have a 4 week old baby and I’m asthmatic.
So far no confirmed cases in my are but there are 9 miles away.

I’ve told friends and family we are no longer accepting and visitors at all.

Hubby goes out to work but he’s going to see if he can start working from home.

Our parents are quite upset that they can’t come round and see the baby.
I feel bad but I also feel this is necessary.

I think it's sensible. My SIL has a two week old and she has barred all visitors including her (understandably a little disappointed) parents. I have an 18 month old and I've stopped my DM and partner's parents from visiting, more so as they are older or have underlying health conditions and I'm afraid they will catch something from me, I work in a large public office.

Are you going to keep this up for 16 weeks?

Hairwizard · 14/03/2020 14:23

Me and sil texting earlier about the same thing. We have agreed its best to keep away from each other at the moment so no visits to or from family for now. Will be telling my folks to stay where they are for now too. They all have health issues and ive 4 kids here at home. For there sakes more than ours.

Go with your gut. Visitors can do video calls.

@inselfisolationnow for as long as I need to.

While your dh is going out to work, it’s pretty pointless stopping your parents coming round.
