Jet 2 cancelled all Spanish holidays

Just received message jet2 cancelling all Spanish holidays plus planes already out on way to canaries returning to UK

I've a holiday booked with them in 2 weeks but haven't had an email as yet. To be honest I'm not surprised though

My parent s are in the canaries now, flew out on Thursday with JET2... I've let them know as they hadn't heard anything!

I’m guessing it won’t be long before other airlines follow suit...I know folks that flew out yesterday for 10 days I hope they get back safely - just whatsapped them the article so they get a heads up.

Anyone know how long they are cancelled for? I'm booked to go end of May and it will be much easier claiming on insurance if it's cancelled. I've heard nothing from Jet2

We’re in Tenerife now, expecting to check out at Noon flight at 4pm to MAN.

Apparently Jet2 will be contacting us to explain what will be happening.
Hopefully they’ll be sending an (empty?) plane to bring us back, possibly a little later than usual.

Going to be an interesting day.

My parents are panicking abit. Looking at flights with other carriers but not till end if the week! Have explained that by the end of the week no one will be flying anywhere
