Confusing cough

I had a sore throat on sunday. By monday I was coughing pretty constantly, it was a dry tickly type cough at that point. No other symptoms and temp definitely normal. By tuesday the cough had developed into something more chesty and phlegmy. I started working from home/ self-isolation on Wednesday- cough still quite constant and that point, still no other symptoms. By Thursday the cough had tailed off considerably - still getting bouts but they were further apart. But it seemed to worsen again in the evening. Had planned to go back to work on the friday but after the government announcement, I though it would be best to stay in isolation until sunday evening (I.e. 7 days since cough onset). Yesterday (friday) I barely coughed at all during the day but as soon as 5pm hit, I was coughing every few minutes for the rest of the night. Today I've been up for 2 hours and have only coughed a couple of times. I don't really understand why I'm pretty much ok during the day but coughing loads in the evening and not sure if this can be classified as an improvement, as per government advice. If it continues to follow this pattern, I'll be fine at work next week but dreading getting on a train after 5pm.

Also just realised that the above paragraph sounds like a really shit version of that Craig David song.

Sounds to me you've got a bad chest if it's phlegm. I've had the same , still coughing occasionally bringing up phlegm .
