Why have they stopped testing?

Just can't help thinking how selfish this is and aren't we lucky that China and South Korea and other countries HAVE been testing and have produced statistics in order to predict what will happen etc. It seems totally irresponsible to just stop testing, so we actually sill have NO IDEA of the % of people who had it, whether they were mild or medium or whatever, bloody hell. Aren't we lucky China and Italy got it before us. I don't understand how the uk is so out of step with the whole of Europe.

China and Italy did the same

We've probably run out of test kits for now..

The epidemiologists are convinced that the virus is circulating freely in the general community now to the extent that they can’t trace all contacts.
So the resources can be better used treating those that present with severe symptoms.
