What is wrong with people! It’s really not that hard is it!

If you have a new cough or fever it could be Coronavirus so isolate. The chief medical officer thinks 10000 people in the UK have it so it’s not exactly rare anymore and over the next few weeks 60-80% of us will get it. So stay inside and try and keep the old and vulnerable alive.....

I’ve had a shit day with an annoying three year old who wants to be at nursery and work pressuring me to come in but I have a cough (as does DD) so I am isolating us. Yes I had things planned for this weekend and were out of milk but I’ve not been to get any and I’m gonna spend my weekend watching Disney movies. But I DONT WANT TO KILL PEOPLE so I am staying at home....so not going for a run or walk or poping to the shops for essentials . DH (no symptoms) is sleeping in the spare room and has made plans to be at work most of the time over the weekend to limit his exposure to us.

Why do people think they are special. It’s simple Stay at home if you have temp or fever. If you are too ill to stay at home call 111/999

10,000 people out if the uk population is still pretty rare.

Good on you for isolating.

Sunnydaysrock · 13/03/2020 22:50

Yes, it's cos it feels so dramatic to take the action you have responsibly taken. If we have any symptoms in our family I will be doing the same. Whilst I appreciate people have commitments that are harder to put on hold, this situation can only get better when people take that leap and isolate even if it feels dramatic or over the top. My sister and brother-in-law are both at risk so I will do any thing I can to help the situation.

Fever or cough doesn't necessarily mean Coronavirus. You are catastrophising.

Really12345 · 14/03/2020 00:25

@inwood no they don’t but as we don’t know they don’t we have to assume they do and stay inside. I’m sure I have a nursery cold via DD but since what is happening in Italy looks rubbish I will follow advice and stay in. If everyone decided “I’m alright Jack” then more people will die as some of them will be wrong....

Totally agree. It's the only way to slow it down. Yes you might pass it on without knowing but you are so much more contagious if you have symptoms.

AltheaVestr1t · 14/03/2020 09:03

I’m totally with you. Just do as you’ve been asked, for goodness sake people!

chatterbugmegastar · 14/03/2020 09:04

Jesus fucking Christ

Fever or cough doesn't necessarily mean Coronavirus. You are catastrophising.

NO THE OP IS NOT CATASTROPHISING

The OP is following guidance from the CMO and CSO

WHAT is wrong with you people? Well done OP

idontlike789 · 14/03/2020 09:07

Good for you op , but I don't understand your point . Do you know people who have a new cough or fever who are just carrying on ? because I don't .
I think as from yesterday it's well known in this country the advice is to stay home if you have a cough / fever .

NaturalBornWoman · 14/03/2020 09:11

Why are people struggling with this so much? It was clear enough but so much 'confusion' Hmm

Yet people are also demanding lockdowns. It's been clearly explained that currently the most effective way of slowing this down is if symptomatic people self isolate. That makes absolute sense, people who are coughing don't go out and spread whatever it is you have. The number of people on here who apparently are incapable of deciding whether or not they have a cough is ridiculous.
