NHS Wales question

Hoping there might be some MNers who work in NHS Wales.

It has been reported that all non urgent outpatient appointments are to be cancelled so that staff can be trained and diverted to Covid-19 care.
Please can anyone confirm that this is with immediate effect and all hospitals.

I have a non urgent appointment early Monday morning. By the time office staff start work I will have already left to travel there. If cancellations are not in place yet I don’t want to be a no show but I would rather avoid a wasted journey if possible.

Just to be clear I completely understand and have no quibbles about not having my appointment. My utmost sympathy and respect goes out to all NHS staff who are already working in shit conditions and now have to deal with the Coronavirus. You folk are amazing.

All the best to you too baubles.

I think the suspension of appointments was announced too late on Friday for staff to contact patients. My gut feeling atm is not to go.
The footfall of outpatients must be huge and I would prefer to avoid going there.
