Have I got Corona or something else?

So I've had a sore throat for a few days, feeling a bit achy. I've coughed a few times but not a bad one, and I do tend to get coughs.

Then today I threw up, pretty badly, three times over the course of the morning, and have been feeling nauseous and weak since.

I thought as I was vomiting (ha!) they at least it was good as it meant I didn't have Corona, but now I see it is (low) on the list of symptoms.

What do you guys think?

I am not in any way qualified to tell you if you have Corona or not, but it sounds likely. The most common symptom which is apparently almost universal, is a fever. Do you have one?

RuffleCrow · 13/03/2020 20:59

Impossible for us to diagnose you. Unless your symptoms get bad enough for hospital treatment you will probably never know. I hope you get better soon. I usually start putting turmeric, garlic and ginger in everything when i get a virus. Does help. Maybe wait til your stomach settles though.

LambChopsMcGee · 13/03/2020 21:08

I've not taken my temperature but I don't feel hot. I did on the bus coming home from work but I think that was more anxiety and gross feeling.

I'll up the turmeric, garlic and ginger when I'm back on real food, thanks! Dal sounds good right now actually.

Just not sure whether to self isolate fully, or just work from home for a week, or not bother...

Fever or cough = self isolate. I think you should.

CherryMaple · 13/03/2020 21:13

A few coughs - not a new persistent cough? No need to self-isolate necessarily....

LennyPugGoat · 13/03/2020 21:13

No idea, see how you are tomorrow and if you have the slightest degree of a new cough or fever please consider isolating yourself

Motorina · 13/03/2020 21:13

Based on the current guidance you need to self-isolate. If you can work from home in a way which is consistent with that, then do so.

'Not bother' puts the health of others at risk, whether it's coronavirus or something else.

GruntBaby · 13/03/2020 21:18

I think you need to isolate. Our entire family has been asked to isolate, just because DC1 has a cough.

LambChopsMcGee · 13/03/2020 21:22

True, I think I will. I'll keep an eye on symptoms. I'm pretty able to work from home so I will.

Yes, sorry, "not bother" was callous wording.

I know a few people, including DS, who've had a bug like yours including nausea. I don't think it's covid, although at this point, who knows?

Kahlua4me · 13/03/2020 21:25

My ds vomited yesterday evening and I rang 111 mainly because he said he felt a bit odd. All obs ok.

I went through to the corona section first but they said that unless we had travelled abroad or seen somebody that had been dx with corona then he didn’t have it.

Then did 111 online and it said to book appt with the nurse, who then rang and booked appt for out of hours gp. Saw him who didn’t have anything to say about why DS was poorly. Said his throat was red but as he didn’t have a temperature he was fine! Didn’t want any further tests so we went home...

Kahlua4me · 13/03/2020 21:28

May be worth isolating for a week if you can and see how you feel?

LowcaAndroidow · 13/03/2020 21:30

Impossible to know, but I'd be cautious to protect others and assume it is.

RainbowPenguins · 13/03/2020 21:31

I've got common cold symptoms. I don't feel like I've got a temperature. But I checked to be cautious (with ear thermometer) and it's 38! So I'd say you also can't be certain about the temp unless you can check it.

LsBells · 13/03/2020 21:35

I have a weird sore throat - it feels like its more towards the back of my soft palate. Minute achiness and 'full' feeling head. I'm guessing I'm just more aware of it because of CV around.

Fishcakey · 13/03/2020 21:44

I haven't read anywhere about throwing up being indicative of Corona and I am badly emetophobic and trust me, I do my research!

defthand · 13/03/2020 21:48

Nausea and vomiting are definitely symptoms. It’s been found in the gastric tract.

Someone from SE Asia posted the following that came from their MOH, the detail is interesting:
