hi all!

My ILs are planning on flying to Malaga tomorrow and I am really concerned tbh! I have spoken to mil on the phone tonight and she says that everything is fine in Malaga with not so many cases so they are still going. I'm concerned at what they could bring back or that they could get stuck. Can anyone help me with advice ? Some actual facts would be good or people living there. We have a member of the family with lung issues so if they do go I will not be seeing them for a few weeks at the minimum.

Thanks in advance x

I live about an hour away from Malaga and, up until today, it was mostly business as usual here but Spain is now the worst affected European country after Italy. A 70 year old man died in Malaga this afternoon and, by all accounts, with Madrid closing all its bars, restaurants and most shops, a lot of the Madrilenos are heading to their holiday homes on the coast so, while it might not be too bad here now, there are no guarantees it’ll stay that way.

Schools are all closed for two weeks from Monday and a lot of museums, galleries, markets etc will be shut. It’s all started to feel very real down here now.

I’ve told my mum to put her plans to visit me on hold for a while and, personally, think your ILs should reconsider. If yours are anything like mine though they’ll take no notice!

My friend flew to spain yesterday for a quick weekend trip to visit her mum. Shes now on a 14 day lockdown with the rest of spain and they are only allowed to leave their homes for work, food, welfare and pharmacy visits.
