Check this link -
www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/

I don't understand why no media in the UK reported it?

It is on the BBC's website, but only in passing in the live feed.

Is there an accurate map anywhere showing live cases does anybody know? That would be useful.

inzelluk · 13/03/2020 15:41

www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/f94c3c90da5b4e9f9a0b19484dd4bb14

This is the dashboard by NHS (I think), but it's lacking behind!

There will be far more than that as they are only confirmed cases, in reality they are now meaningless.

Scruffyoak · 13/03/2020 15:43

I usually get a pop up from sky news on my phone but didnt today

YourVagesty · 13/03/2020 15:44

Thanks inzelluk

LuckyMarmiteLover · 13/03/2020 15:52

They said yesterday that it was between 5-10,000. They are only testing such people in hospital now so don’t know where the numbers are coming from

greenleafycarrot · 13/03/2020 15:53

Because there’s no point in reporting it, the number is realistically far higher than that so any number they give is meaningless.

Chloemol · 13/03/2020 16:02

Go on the gov.uk website, type in Coronavirus and you get the nhs cases as at yesterday per health region

VitCSoup · 13/03/2020 16:05

Yep completely meaningless, number is way higher in reality but no one's testing thoroughly now to know the true number

Purplewhitelie · 13/03/2020 16:05

And thousands more. Deaths to follow in about a week.

LowcaAndroidow · 13/03/2020 16:09

800 confirmed cases is a bit meaningless when they know the actual number of infections is more like 8000.

Avarua · 02/12/2021 12:43

Zombie thread for a reason. Nostalgia. Unbelievable what happened subsequent to this thread, isn't it?

FlickerBeat · 02/12/2021 14:55

This frightened me when it popped up! I thought it meant 798 new variant cases!

Smokeyfish · 02/12/2021 14:57

No media is reporting this - because they want us to remain scared.

Me too!

The early Worried about Coronavirus threads are a similarly eerie read.

EvilPea · 02/12/2021 15:00

Ahhh 800 cases.
The good old days Blush

Eh? Do you just automatically post this on every Covid thread without actually reading what it's about?
Blackopal · 02/12/2021 15:00

Wow, looking at the date on this and the previous posts when we know what came next is actually quite chilling.

Smokeyfish · 02/12/2021 15:01

I've read what the thread is about Jesus.

What do you mean?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 02/12/2021 15:07

@Smokeyfish I mean - why would the media be reporting now on stats from March 2020? Why would NOT reporting a very steep rise in figures ensure that people remain scared?

Smokeyfish · 02/12/2021 15:10

I missed that it was from March 2020 - sorry Jesus.

Bordois · 02/12/2021 15:44
