How are we doing testing now-does anyone know?

We were testing 1500 people a day, then it was suggested we’d up this to 10,000 a day. Now it seems we will only be testing those presenting ill at hospital.

Is that going to be closer to 1500 or 10000?

When does/did this start? Will our daily figures show a big change?

Our figures will be nonsense, and will give people a false sense of security.

I think they’ll drop for a while then pickup again when the inevitable hospital surge occurs.

There will be a few days lag now, though, as those tested earlier in the week come through.

our figures have always been nonsense and not a true reflection of how many have it but it's all they have to go on to see percentage increases/decreases

as far as I know now only people presenting at hospital with problematic symptoms will be tested but they are at least recognising the community transmission and you will get a test regardless of travelling recently or not.
