I could actually do with getting Corona Virus right now

Not as crazy as it sounds. I’ve got terminal cancer and am between treatments at the moment so it’s been 4 weeks since I last had chemo, white blood cells should be back to normalish now.

I am due to start my next line of chemo soon. Once that starts I probably won’t have a break again.

With such low white blood cells my risk of complications is high.

Also I have 5 children who go to 4 different schools and nurseries so the chance of me getting it at some point is high. Would I be mad to want it now?

Wouldn't you be worried about it developing into pneumonia though?

Now is the healthiest I’m going to be so surely I am in the best position to fight it off.

I get what you mean. You don't actually want it but if you're gonna get it anyway now is the best time.

I don’t have any of the health issues you have OP, but I keep thinking I would rather have it now than in a few weeks when it’s even more me wide spread.
Equally, id rather not have it at all, but I believe everyone is going to get it at some point!

I get what you mean OP. I'm pretty health, but getting old. I can see merits in getting it over with when you feel you may at your peak healthwise.

I know what you mean, the waiting is getting to me so it would almost be better to get it over & done with (even though we might get it again, who knows!).

I keep thinking about the chicken pox parties when I was a kid & thinking the same thing.

I was thinking this earlier but weren't there reports of people getting it twice in China? They tested positive, then recovered and tested negative and then caught it again and tested positive again... if that's the case catching it now isn't necessarily going to help you especially if you are immune compromised as your body won't produce enough antibodies during the first infection to fight it off for potentially a second time.

Don't understand anyone wanting what ,in your weakened state, is a life threatening illness.

I'd suggest self-isolation instead 💐

Self isolate for how long? My children are going to be mixing with hundreds of other children everyday and coming home to me. Odds are I am going to get it soon.
