Dd has guarded right sided abdo pain, nausea and various other symptoms of appendicitis. I'm a health care professional and I've come home from work to get her to a dr as I'm quite worried, because she has a temp they won't see her and I have to wait for advice, receptionist just told me to isolate her. There are many other illnesses that have a temp that actually require medical attention.

In my practice..you would be put in for a call back but I would see you later. Noone should be refusing to see patients but we need to change how we are seeing them. We have to protect everyone. I hope you get a call back soon.

I'm on annual leave this week but just come back from a meeting with my GPcolleagues at work. We are triaging all calls. It's a huge change and we have just spent an hour and a half discussing what to do going forward and that's just to get to Monday! . My brain aches. Who do we see, when, what rooms should we use. It is not easy. How do we bring possible infected patients in. Who should see them? The list is endless.
The guidance says send breathless people to hospital but many people aren't that breathless and we can't overburden the hospitals. The next few weeks are going to be tough.
